Ice Cream Shop Engagement Shoot in Arvada, Colorado

Not to be dramatic, but this might just be one of our favorite engagement shoots EVER. Will and I love to tell our couple’s stories through photos, and this shoot allowed us to do exactly that. In this storytelling engagement session, we met Madalyn and Nathan at Scrumptious, an old-timey ice cream and candy shop located in Arvada, Colorado. This wasn’t just any old ice cream shop, though — this was where Madalyn and Nathan had their first date more than three years ago. Cue the tears.

The love these two have for each other shone through every. Single. Photo. It was so fun to document their love in a place that meant so much to them and their relationship! This storytelling engagement session in Colorado was definitely one for the books, and one we won’t forget anytime soon.

We started this storytelling engagement session inside the ice cream shop itself. The two ordered their favorite ice cream — cotton candy and strawberry — and found a spot to sit, enjoy their ice cream, and just talk. It was so sweet to see these two interact in a place that was important to them; the sentiment elevated their photos and made them that much more authentic.

We finished this ice cream shop engagement shoot by walking to an old train station nearby. Madalyn and Nathan’s Colorado engagement session was so much fun to capture, and we are beyond grateful we told a part of their story through photo.
