Colorful Fall Elopement at Twin Lakes

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up our 2025 wedding season than with TJ and Annie’s colorful fall elopement at Twin Lakes in Colorado. The love that surrounded these two was heartwarming to witness, and the day was a dream from start to finish. It’s safe to say that Twin Lakes is now one of our favorite places in Colorado.

TJ and Annie met each other in high school; although they knew each other, they went their separate ways after graduation. It wasn’t until TJ moved back to Colorado in 2020 that they reconnected and started dating. They were together four years when TJ asked Annie to marry him, and she said yes. They have the cutest and sweetest dog, Fin, who was a big part of their elopement.

Their elopement started at Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort where TJ and Annie got ready for the big day. It was a cold October day with a chance of rain, and the dark sky made the vibrant orange Aspen trees pop. TJ’s dad helped him put on his suit, and they talked about their excitement for the day. Afterwards, Annie put on her dress, veil, and shoes with the help of her mom and soon-to-be mother-in-law. It was sweet to watch TJ and Annie prepare for the day with some of the most important people in their lives.

After TJ and Annie got ready, they drove separately — they hadn’t seen each other yet — to the first look spot. Just a few minutes down the road from Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort, the first look location was a beautiful bridge surrounded by trees. With the roaring creek and drizzling rain, TJ saw his bride for the first time. It was an incredibly sweet moment, and it was evident to see how excited these two were to get married. TJ and Annie then sat beside the creek and read letters from their family and friends before they said “I do.” It was an emotional moment to say the least.

From there, it was time for TJ and Annie to get married! We drove the thirty minutes to Twin Lakes, and by the time we arrived, the rain had cleared, and the sun was shining. It was a beautiful fall day. Surrounded by their closest family and friends by the water, TJ and Annie pledged their love for each other, and said “I do.” They celebrated afterwards with champagne and a speech, and then it was time for their couple portraits. At this point, the weather had changed dramatically, and we knew we didn’t have a lot of time before the rain (snow!) came. We took a few photos by the water, then we drove to a spot nearby that overlooked the entire lake. By now, it was freezing and was pouring rain; the rain didn’t stop TJ and Annie from just having fun together and celebrating their marriage.

After we took their last photo, the sky had — once again — cleared, and the sun started to peak out from the clouds. It was the perfect way to end the day!
