Camping Engagement Session in Buena Vista, Colorado

We say this a lot, but this was wholeheartedly one of our engagement sessions ever. In our initial discovery call with Peter and Shelby, we learned that they loved camping and being outside; in fact, they first met at a young-adult camping retreat through their church.

Like every engagement session we do, we love to incorporate the couple’s story into their shoot; for Peter and Shelby’s engagement session, we were ecstatic about the possibility of having a camping engagement shoot. And we’re so happy they wanted to do this! It was loads of fun and incredibly sweet to see the love these two have for camping, but more importantly, each other. This truly was the perfect adventure engagement session in Colorado.

When we found this dispersed camping site in Buena Vista, Colorado, we knew it would be perfect for Peter and Shelby’s engagement session. The foothills of Mount Princeton surrounded them, and a quiet creek trickled in the background, making for a peaceful and beautiful backdrop for this camping engagement session. The session started with Peter and Shelby setting up a tent and creating a roaring fire together — it was incredibly cozy and sweet.

Once the two finished making the fire, they settled in to play a card game and chess together. As the sun set in the background, the fire got brighter and cast a warm glow over the scene. Peter and Shelby laughed and teased together as they played their games; it was so sweet to witness their love play out during their camping engagement session.

Once it got dark, the two put away the games and cozied up together next to the fire with their warm mugs of hot chocolate. This was an incredibly special mountain engagement session to be a part of, and we are forever grateful to Peter and Shelby for trusting us to share and document their story.
